Why Frankenstein?

When Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein; or the modern Prometheus in 1818 the horror genre did not exist, she invented it.

Born to famous authors William Godwin and Mary Wollstonecraft, it wasn’t surprising that Mary would become an author, it was more surprising was how she took her grief over losing her child and losing her mother that turned into a Gothic novel about trying to bring back the dead.

From May 8 – October 30 Gal’s Guide has been broadcasting a chapter of Frankenstein read by Amber Jones.
