This event focuses on activities, crafts, and self-care tips to empower Mommy and child. Enjoy presentations from the founder of Girls Positivity Club and the founder of Gal’s Guide.

Our theme is Dragons to celebrate the Lunar Year of the Dragon. Mother of dragons and all ye dragons are welcome for an event filled with wisdom and fierceness.

Leah
Founder of Gal’s Guide
Mom of two amazing kids, Leah Leach is a super silly lady. Her favorite thing is to help people be their awesome selves. Leah is the guide for our Girl Scout events, Film Club, LGBTQ+ meetups, and our Buddha Friends group. You’ll find her smiling face at the Gal’s Guide library nearly every time you come in! She loves lamas, dragons, Wonder Woman, and movies.
Melissa
Founder of Girls Positivity Club
Mother of one fierce and heroic son, Melissa Jones is a global leader, international speaker, girls empowerment coach, parenting educator, and highly effective licensed classroom teacher who helps girls learn positive daily habits to feel confident in who they are and connect with other girls in an empowering environment. She has motivated and cultivated connections among hundreds of girls and provides families with resources she has created through over 49,680 hours of experience.
What is Galentine’s Day?
Its origins are in the TV show Parks and Recreation (ironically a show that is fictionally based in Indiana). The episode “Galentine’s Day” has Leslie Knope (Amy Poler) reserving the day before Valentine’s Day for “Ladies celebrating ladies breakfast style.”
