2025 THEME IS FEMALE FRIENDSHIPS

Gal’s Guide seeks fiction or nonfiction or poetry about female friendships.

This is the fourth annual Gal’s Guide Anthology. Previous themes have been Women’s History, Journey, and Nourish.

Gal’s Guide Anthology: Female Friendships

Deadline 12/31/2024

Publication March 2025

SELECTION PROCEDURE:

Stories/poems will be chosen by a jury made up of board members of Gal’s Guide and a judge from the literary world.

Stories/poems picked for the anthology will be ones that best fit the theme of female friendships, follow the submission specs, and are turned in on or before the deadline.

Writers may submit as many pieces as they like; however, a maximum of three (3) pieces per author will be chosen by the judges for publication in the 2025 anthology.

There is no submission fee.

RIGHTS:

Writers will grant rights to Gal’s Guide to the Galaxy from the time of acceptance to publication ( January 2024-March 2024). At the time of publication, all rights will revert back to the writer.

PRIZES:

The Gal’s Guide Anthology will be available in printed formats. Authors whose work is chosen for the anthology will receive one (1) physical copy of the book.

Three (3) winners will be chosen by the judges.

All published entries will also be eligible for a People’s Choice Award to be determined by online vote after release.

Submission Specs:

  • Fiction, nonfiction, and poetry accepted
  • No A.I. generated content
  • No word limit
  • Multiple entries per contributor are permitted
  • Submissions must arrive via email on or before 11:59PM EST 12/31/24

How to send in your submission

1) Attach your submission in a Word or RTF file. Include your name and title of the piece.

2) Attach an author photo that can be used for publication in the anthology.

3)In the body of the email, include a one (1) paragraph bio that can be used for publication.
