Many times we turn to our friends for support when life gets rough but when that’s not enough, turn to professionals. There are many wonderful people who are here to help.

We’ve collected hotlines and websites that offer support to those in need in the United States.

National Suicide Hotline 1-800-273-8255

A national network of local crisis centers that provide free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Trevor Project – Youth LGBTQ Suicide Lifeline 866-488-7386

A safe and judgment-free place to talk to trained counselors for LGBTQ youth in crisis.

National Domestic Abuse Hotline  1-800-799-7233

Provide confidential, one-on-one support to each caller and chatter, offering crisis intervention, options for next steps and direct connection to sources for immediate safety

Whether you’re looking for support, information, advice, or a referral, their trained support specialists are ready to help.

National Alliance on Mental Illness Helpline 1-800-950-6264

Available weekdays, NAMI helpline staff can help you with questions about mental illness symptoms, treatment options, local support groups, programs, and legal issues.

National Child Abuse Hotline 1-800-422-4453

The hotline offers crisis intervention, information, and referrals to thousands of emergency, social service, and support resources. All calls are confidential.

National Runaway Safeline 1-800-RUNAWAY

The safeline is for those who have runaway from home or are thinking of running away.

Teen Dating Violence Hotline 1-866-331-8453

Loveisrespect.org is the ultimate resource to empower youth to prevent and end dating abuse. It is a project of the National Domestic Violence Hotline.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving Victim Assistance 1-877-MADD-HELP

Disaster Distress Hotline 1-800-985-5990

National hotline dedicated to providing immediate crisis counseling for people who are experiencing emotional distress related to any natural or human-caused disaster.
