Juneteenth Read IN

Gal’s Guide Library is hosting a Juneteenth Read-IN. Invoking the spirit of civil rights sit-ins, the Gal’s Guide Library will be facilitating a space and books for people of all ages and ethnicities to come and sit and read a book about the African American experience.

Bring a book. Borrow a book.
Non Fiction or Fiction.
Sit inside our library or outside on the patio.
We don’t mind.
What we ask is that you challenge yourself to read, learn, and create change in your section of the world.

What is Juneteenth?

Juneteenth is a combination of June and nineteenth. Every year since 1865 Juneteenth has been a holiday celebrating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the United States.
