November 2020 Gal’s Guide will be hosting a NaNoWriMo group online and in-person meetings. A great way to have fun, keep accountable and cheer on others.
If you are new to NaNoWriMo it stands for National Novel Writing Month and the challenge is to write 50,000 words in the 30 days of November.

NEW! For each write-in you attend (in person or online) you get a Gal’s Guide point worth $1 at the shop.
You can either use the points as a coupon off, an item at the shop or you can save them up to get an item you’d like for free! For example, our used books are for sale for $1. That means you can get a free book for each write-in you attend!

In honor of
Debra A. Kemp
by Leah Leach
We called her Debs. She said that only her friends could call her Debs. She also said if you wronged her she “…would murder you in her next book.”
I met Debs when she came to the Indy Writers’ Group. She was quiet, reserved, and always thinking. She was eager for feedback and quick witted for those who didn’t like her feedback.
I always enjoyed her company. We would drag each other to writers retreats, conferences, and of course NaNoWriMo. She always looked forward to who would be written off by the shovel of death in her NaNo pages while we sat in a crowded cafe with RUSH blaring from her headphones.
It was Debs who got me into the spectacle of NaNo. She would have been the one hosting these write ins. She passed away in 2015. So alas, I take up the charge and I will act as stead for Debra A. Kemp for NaNo 2020.
